As much as we love intensive, playful and deepening dance training, taking care of our body and taking time for recovery and body awareness is equally important! Bodywork focuses on gaining more insight in our body structure, which supports us to dance and move in a healthy way and more generally: integrate healthy movement patterns in our daily life.
Every session will put light on a specific part of the body and its movement capacity in relation to the rest of the body. The explorations work towards an integration into the whole body moving into space.
The Feldenkrais Method® Developed by Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, uses gentle movement and directed attention to help people learn new and more effective ways of living and moving. You can increase your ease and range of motion, improve your flexibility and coordination, and rediscover your innate capacity for graceful, efficient movement.
Since how you move, is how you move through life, these improvements will often enhance your thinking, emotional regulation, and problem solving capabilities. The Feldenkrais Method is based on principles of physics, biomechanics, and an empirical understanding of learning and human development.
About the format of this course: all sessions will take place no matter the corona measures at that moment. If corona measures don't allow us to meet in the dance studio, we will continue online. Both the studio lessons and the online lessons in your own home are designed to be inspiring and complete sessions that enrich your dancers practice! A few days before the start, we will e-mail you with more details about the first session.
Wear clothes in which you can move easily. Provide a bottle of water, a blanket and a yoga mat.
In the case of online sessions, you need a computer/laptop/tablet with internet connection and working camera and microphone.
