Gitaar special: electric guitar
This course in World Rhythm and Lead Electric Guitar is meant for the intermediate guitar player capable of playing barre chord and with a basic understanding of the pentatonic scale. We will cover a range of techniques, styles, genres and tricks!
Each lesson will focus on different rhythm patterns, a number of riffs, licks and melodic ideas for soloing. You also get in depth advice about the multitude of options for effects pedals and amplification use.
The following genres can be covered:
- Reggae/dub/ska: how to deliver chops, keyboard style rhythm, ska rhythm, reggae solo tones, delay and reverb. We also explore how these translate when playing dub.
- Funk/latin/jazz: in depth advice on funk, latin and jazz rhythms and an introduction to the variety of chord shapes and progressions. Fun and addictive funk and latin riffs and associated tonal advice with each genre for guitar and amp settings. We also cover the use of wah-wah, chorus, phaser and compression.
- Blues/rock: slow blues progressions and power chords to Drop D rock riffs. You find out which type of soloing tone is best suited for what you are playing and get advice on how to get that authentic blues vibe or how to create your own screaming rock tone. We explore a number of different effect pedal combinations and options that make sure you cut through the mix in a live performance with a full band.
The last course we will join the students of Snaredrum technique and rythm for an explosive jam in which you can put to practice everything you learned during the past weeks!
