Contemporary dance: a sunny immersion for beginners
How does a beautiful French setting sound as the decor for your very first encounter (or reunion) with contemporary dance? This week, we offer you nothing less than a deluxe dance immersion, connecting your movement potential with the ultimate vacation feeling.
Together, we discover how contemporary dance unfolds through your personality, imagery and movement. We explore and play with the endless possibilities of our moving body. Each day, we will cover some basic physical principles. The focus lies on body awareness, flexibility, endurance, strength and creativity.
We will learn dance phrases and unveil the source of new movement material. Moving from and to the floor will become second nature. We will work on integration and isolation of body parts in motion and experience first-hand what it means to activate our center.
In addition to physical research, we will discover composition and improvisation, exploring how our own movement language shows and develops as individuals and during group compositions, learning how to connect and interact with each other.

A day in the dancing week ...
Each day starts with a flowing yoga session, followed by a morning session and an afternoon or evening session. The dance and movement sessions take up 5 to 6 hours a day. The afternoons are free for swimming, hiking, napping, going for mountainbike rides ...
Pack clothes you can wear in layers, some long sleeved shirts, a hat (as sun protection) and shoes in which you can dance outside. Also bring a reusable bottle of water and (if you have those) a couple of soft kneepads.
